Dr. Sibel Eljach at COCO Smiles Orthodontics

Dr. Sibel Eljach, DMD, MS

Dr. Sibel Eljach founded COCO Smiles Orthodontics to give children, teens, and adults a more personal orthodontic experience. She creates an individualized plan for each patient and remains involved from the first consultation through retention. Her approach combines careful diagnosis, attentive communication, modern technology, and treatment options selected around each patient's needs and goals.

Dr. Eljach provides metal braces, clear ceramic braces, WildSmiles braces, Invisalign clear aligners, InSmile lingual braces, palatal expansion, and several retainer options. Her experience includes routine alignment, complex comprehensive care, adult expansion, and the orthodontic phase of surgical cases coordinated with oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

Dr. Eljach began her dental education at Ege University Faculty of Dentistry in Izmir, Türkiye, where she earned a master's degree in dentistry in 2005. After relocating to the United States, she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry in 2017. She then completed a full-time specialty residency in orthodontics at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2020.

Her additional education includes the Tweed Study Course in advanced edgewise mechanics and diagnosis and advanced Invisalign training in complex treatment planning and case finishing. She continues her education through professional meetings and training focused on lingual braces, digital scanning, CBCT-based diagnosis, digital planning, and in-house 3D printing.

Dr. Eljach opened COCO Smiles Orthodontics in Coconut Grove to care for the community where she and her family live. Outside the office, she enjoys discovering Miami restaurants, traveling, reading, taking long walks with her dog, and spending time with her husband Sal and their daughter Zoe.

Salomon Eljach with his family at COCO Smiles Orthodontics

Salomon “Sal” Eljach

Salomon “Sal” Eljach is the co-founder and practice director of COCO Smiles Orthodontics. He has been part of the practice since before it opened, dedicating his time to overseeing the design and build-out of the clinic through its 2026 opening and helping bring his wife Dr. Sibel Eljach's vision to life.

As practice director, Sal works primarily behind the scenes, managing operations and marketing so Dr. Eljach and the clinical team can remain focused on patient care. His professional background in development, construction, and healthcare spaces made him a natural fit to lead the creation of the office. Although he is not usually at the front desk, patients may occasionally hear his friendly voice when they call the practice.

For Sal, COCO Smiles Orthodontics is deeply personal. Every detail of the office was designed with patient comfort in mind, and one of the most rewarding parts of his role is seeing families walk through the doors and immediately feel at home. He takes pride in knowing that the environment supports the care Dr. Eljach provides and contributes to a comfortable, welcoming, and positive orthodontic experience.

Sal previously served as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, the University of Miami College of Engineering, where he taught graduate courses in Hospital and Healthcare Design and Construction. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami and a Master of Science in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver.

A proud Miami native, Sal grew up in Kendall and later met Dr. Eljach in Chicago. Today, they are raising their daughter, Zoe, in Coconut Grove. Their connection to the community is central to their commitment to creating a practice where every family feels cared for and welcome.

Outside the practice, Sal is a hands-on car enthusiast who enjoys maintaining vehicles himself, often alongside friends. Patients may also spot his HUMVEE featuring COCO Smiles Orthodontics branding around the Grove.

Sal is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is currently learning Turkish to connect more closely with his in-laws. For him, building COCO Smiles Orthodontics has been the project of a lifetime, bringing together his professional passion for creating exceptional healthcare spaces and his personal commitment to his family.
