What to Expect
During the image, you stand or sit while the unit moves around your head. The team will position your chin, forehead, and bite carefully and ask you to remain still for a short time. Retakes are avoided whenever a diagnostic image can be obtained on the first attempt.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography, commonly called CBCT, creates a three-dimensional view of teeth, roots, jaws, and surrounding structures. Dr. Sibel Eljach may recommend a CBCT scan when the added detail is clinically useful for diagnosis or treatment planning. It is not automatically required for every patient.
How This Technology Supports Orthodontic Care
Three-dimensional information can help evaluate impacted teeth, root positions, jaw relationships, airway anatomy, temporary anchorage planning, expansion, and selected complex cases. The scan gives Dr. Eljach another way to study structures that overlap on conventional two-dimensional images.
What to Expect
The scan is completed while you remain still as the imaging unit rotates around your head. Our team will position you carefully and explain the process before imaging begins. Dr. Eljach reviews the scan together with your examination and other records rather than using any single image by itself.
